Strategy for organisations where content and technology collide.

The Opal Media Group (Pty) Ltd is a boutique African advisory firm combining international experience with deep local understanding to shape better strategies, solutions and opportunities across mindset, content and technology.

From thought leadership to content ecosystems to AI transformation, we help organisations and creators move from possibility to purposeful action.

MINDSET vertical

MINDSET

Sharpen how your leadership thinks and speaks.

  • Coach executives and founders to make sharper calls under pressure.
  • Build a thought leadership position your market actually quotes.
  • Write the keynotes, essays and narratives that carry it.
CONTENT vertical

CONTENT

Build content that earns attention and revenue.

  • Produce brand and content strategy that holds up commercially.
  • Produce short form (shorts or reels) and long form (documentary) content that travels.
  • Music supervision for productions.
  • Open partnerships that grow audience and monetise it.
TECHNOLOGY vertical

TECHNOLOGY

Make AI usable, governed and commercially real.

  • Deploy AI business solutions against real operational problems.
  • AI readiness assessments that tell you what to adopt, what to ignore, and what to govern.
  • Recommendations and guidance on the policy and governance that keeps it defensible.
The Mission

The Opal Media Group (Pty) Ltd exists to bring global perspectives into conversation with African realities — helping organisations, brands and individuals think differently, create meaningfully and navigate what comes next.

The Studio

Strategy you can actually see produced.

Most advisories stop at the deck. We run a small production studio alongside the advisory, using AI-assisted workflows to produce cinematic video and imagery for brands, platforms and institutions — campaign films, brand worlds, launch assets and social-native cutdowns.

What separates the studio from the sudden wave of AI content shops is the depth behind it. Our team has formally studied artificial intelligence and worked with it across media, strategy and production for close to a decade — so the tools are handled with judgment, not novelty, and the output is held to the standard of a strategy firm, not a trend-chaser.

The technology compresses the timeline; the direction, taste and strategy are human. That combination means a brand idea can move from positioning to finished, on-brand assets in weeks rather than quarters — at a fraction of conventional production cost.

Commission the studio
AI isn't new to us. It's a discipline we've applied long before it became a marketing line.
Selected work

A sense of the problems we're brought in to solve.

Technology

AI readiness for a continental media group

The problem
A multi-market broadcaster was fielding AI pitches from every direction with no way to judge them.
What we did
A six-week diagnostic across editorial, production and ad operations: where AI created real margin, where it created risk, and what governance had to exist first.
Outcome
A prioritised adoption roadmap, two pilots approved, and a written internal AI policy signed off by leadership.
Content

Repositioning a boutique luxury real estate brand

The problem
A premium property company had built a high-end portfolio, but its social presence felt mass-market — polished photography sat next to casual or inconsistent reels, and the audience it attracted did not match the price point or experience it delivered.
What we did
A brand-to-content audit, a refined visual and narrative position, and multiple produced videos that matched the offline experience online.
Outcome
A repositioned brand story and a content system that attracts the right buyer: cinematic property films that feel like editorial, and founder-led market notes that explain the 'why' behind each listing — both designed to signal discernment before the first viewing. High click-through rates (CTR) occurred and a significant uptick in viewer enquiries, with those particular listings.
Mindset

Thought leadership for a founder entering a new market

The problem
A founder had sharp opinions and no consistent public voice ahead of a regional expansion.
What we did
Coaching on positioning and message discipline, then a written platform: a point of view, a keynote, and a publishing rhythm.
Outcome
Speaking slots at two industry events, inbound press, and a narrative the commercial team now uses in the room.
